Rubbish Removal Pricing in Coffs Harbour: What Does It Cost?

Rubbish and junk removal graphic from The Junk Removers, showing boxes, furniture and an enclosed Isuzu truck with photo quotes available

Most people ask the same first question: what will it cost? The honest answer is that the price depends on the job. This guide explains the published starting points for rubbish removal in Coffs Harbour, what changes the final figure, and how to get a confirmed quote before you book.

We are The Junk Removers & Pick Up Pros, a family-owned business run by John and Leanne Cook. We have been based in Coffs Harbour since 2003, and we serve the corridor from Port Macquarie to Yamba.

Our published starting points

  • Minimum pickup from $110
  • Quarter load $498.99
  • Half load $998.99
  • Three-quarter load $1,498.99
  • Full load $1,998.99

Mattresses have a minimum of $110 in the Coffs Harbour area. Pianos and spas are quoted individually from $399.99, because weight and access change the labour.

These figures are starting points for a load. Your quote is confirmed once we see the items and understand the access.

What changes the price

Volume. Price follows the space your items take in the truck. A few bags are a minimum pickup. A full garage clear-out is a larger load.

Item type. Mattresses, pianos, spas and other heavy or specialist items take more handling. We confirm those costs in your quote.

Access. Stairs, long carries, narrow doorways, steep driveways and difficult parking all add labour. Tell us about access when you send photos.

Travel. Travel time is built into each quote within our regular area, so there is no separate travel charge.

Timing. Urgent bookings depend on availability. If a job needs a second crew or a time outside our normal hours, we tell you before we confirm the price.

How to get a confirmed quote

Text clear photos to 0415 540 055. Include:

  • Photos of each item or group of items, from a few angles
  • Your suburb and the nearest landmark or street
  • Access details: stairs, lifts, parking and the distance from the items to the truck
  • A rough list of what needs to go

We reply with a confirmed price before you book, so there are no surprises on the day.

Ways to keep the cost down

  • Sort items before we arrive: separate what you keep, what can be donated, and what needs to go.
  • Clear a path to the front of the property where it is safe to do so.
  • Group items into one visit rather than booking several separate pickups.
  • Ask about discounts. Pensioners and people receiving domestic-violence support may be eligible.

Payment

Residential customers can pay by card or Afterpay via Square. Approved commercial, strata and property-management accounts can be invoiced on agreed terms.

Insurance

We carry $20M public liability cover, along with goods-in-transit and workers' compensation insurance on every job.

Recycling and donation

Metal, e-waste and good-condition furniture go to recycling or donation where practical. We do not take asbestos or waste involving bodily fluids.

How load size is measured

Our loads are measured by the space the items occupy in the enclosed truck. A quarter load, half load, three-quarter load and full load are all approximate descriptions of how much of the truck is used. We do not publish cubic-metre figures as fixed prices, because the way items stack and the type of items change how much space they take. Your confirmed quote states the load size we have agreed for your job.

A worked example

Imagine a family clearing a garage. It holds an old workbench, a set of shelves, several boxes, a broken bicycle and two bags of general waste. The photos show that the items fill part of the truck and the access is at ground level beside the driveway. That job would be quoted from the photos as a load, with the confirmed price shown before booking. If the same garage had stairs, a narrow side path and heavy items, the labour would increase, and the quote would reflect that.

Why photos beat a generic estimate

A generic online estimate cannot see the items, the access or the condition of what needs to go. Clear photos let us give a confirmed price without a site visit. They also help us tell you early if an item needs special handling, so the price you agree to is the price you pay.

Items that change the quote

Mattresses have a minimum of $110 in the Coffs Harbour area. Pianos and spas are quoted individually from $399.99, because they need careful handling. Heavy materials, large amounts of green waste and items that need separate disposal are confirmed in your quote before we start.

Checking the quote

When you receive a quote, check that it lists the items, the access details you gave and the load size. If anything is missing or looks different from what you expected, reply and we will check before you book. Once you accept, we do not add charges for items that were on the agreed list.
