Plasterboard Removal & Recycling

Plasterboard waste builds up fast on renovation and building sites. Off-cuts, damaged sheeting, and demolition drywall cannot go in standard bins, and they need to be disposed of correctly — not just tipped at general waste facilities where plasterboard creates environmental issues. We collect plasterboard and drywall waste from building sites, renovations, and demolitions across the Coffs Coast and take it to the correct licensed disposal and recycling facilities.

Why Plasterboard Needs Correct Disposal

Plasterboard contains gypsum — a material that, when sent to landfill mixed with organic waste, can produce hydrogen sulphide gas as it decomposes. For this reason, plasterboard waste needs to go to a facility that can accept and process it separately, not just a general waste skip or tip.

For builders, incorrect plasterboard disposal can create compliance issues. For homeowners, it often means a trip to the tip that ends with the waste being refused or surcharged at the gate. We take the guesswork out and make sure it goes to the right place.

How It Works

1

Tell Us What You Have

How much plasterboard, where it is on the site, and whether it is mixed with other materials. Photos help.

2

We Quote and Book a Pickup

Plasterboard is often combined with a broader site waste collection. We confirm pricing upfront and book a time that suits your site schedule.

3

We Collect From Site

We load the plasterboard waste onto the fully enclosed pantech truck. Large sheets, broken sections, and off-cut piles all handled.

4

Correct Disposal

Plasterboard goes to a licensed facility for proper separation and disposal. We handle the logistics so you do not have to.

Types We Handle

We handle most common plasterboard and drywall types from residential and light commercial sites. If you have an unusual material or large volume, send details and we will confirm.

Standard Plasterboard Sheeting

Off-cuts and damaged sheets from new builds and renovations. Any size, any quantity.

Demolition Drywall

Removed plasterboard from walls and ceilings taken down during renovation or demolition.

Fire-Rated & Moisture-Resistant Board

Specialist plasterboard types. Let us know the product type when enquiring.

Ceiling Plasterboard

Large sheet sections from ceiling removals. Often awkward to handle — we bring the manpower.

Mixed Site Waste with Plasterboard

If plasterboard is mixed with other renovation waste, we can do a full site clearance and sort accordingly.

Bagged Plasterboard Dust & Debris

Bagged fine plasterboard waste and dust from sanding and cutting. Call to confirm acceptance.

Asbestos-containing materials

Older properties may contain asbestos-containing sheeting that resembles plasterboard. If there is any doubt about the material type — particularly in properties built before 1990 — do not disturb it until tested. Licensed asbestos removalists handle that scope, not us. We will advise honestly.

Pricing

Plasterboard removal is priced by the volume and weight of material. Plasterboard is dense and bulky — a pile that looks manageable can fill a quarter of a truck quickly. Pricing reflects the correct licensed disposal costs, not standard landfill rates.

Minimum pickup (small amount)From $110
Up to 1/4 Truck (~4–5m³)$498.99
Up to 1/2 Truck (~8–10m³)$998.99
Up to 3/4 Truck (~13–15m³)$1,498.99
Full Truck (~18m³)$1,998.99

All prices include GST, labour, truck, and correct licensed disposal. Pricing is based on how much of the truck the material fills. Plasterboard disposal fees are higher than general waste due to the requirements for separate processing — prices reflect correct disposal, not general tip rates. Access and distance also factor in. Send photos for an accurate quote.

Builder Accounts

Builders and construction companies with ongoing site waste can set up a trade account. We collect when you need, invoice monthly. One less thing to manage on site.

Can We Combine With Other Waste?

Yes — if you have a mix of plasterboard and other renovation waste on site, we can do a full site clearance in one pickup. We sort and dispose of each material type correctly. Send us a description or photos and we will quote for the whole load.

Common Questions

Why can't plasterboard just go in a skip bin?

Plasterboard can go in some skips, but many facilities will not accept it mixed with general waste due to its environmental classification. Correct disposal requires it to go to a facility equipped to handle gypsum-based material separately.

Can you collect a small amount of plasterboard off-cuts?

Yes. A minimum charge applies, but there is no minimum quantity. If you have a pile of off-cuts that need to go correctly, call or text us.

How do I know if my old sheeting is plasterboard or asbestos?

If the property was built before 1990, there is a higher risk of asbestos-containing sheeting. If you are unsure, do not disturb it — get it tested by a licensed assessor before any removal. We cannot remove asbestos-containing materials.

Can you remove the plasterboard while the builder is still on site?

Yes. Many builders prefer to have waste collected during the build rather than letting it accumulate. Call to arrange a site collection that works around the build schedule.
