IKEA Pickups, Marketplace Collections and Coastal Deliveries from Coffs Harbour

Buying something big from IKEA, a major retailer or a Marketplace listing is exciting until you realise the car will not fit it. Pick Up Pros exists for those moments. We collect and deliver furniture and household items across Coffs Harbour and the Mid North Coast, from Port Macquarie to Yamba, with an enclosed truck and a tail-lift.

We are The Junk Removers & Pick Up Pros, a family-owned business run by John and Leanne Cook. We have been serving the Mid North Coast since 2003, and our base is in Coffs Harbour.

What we collect and deliver

  • Flat-pack and assembled furniture from IKEA and other major retailers
  • Furniture and appliances bought through Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree
  • Auction-house and garage-sale purchases
  • Office furniture and light business stock
  • Single heavy items that will not fit in a car or trailer

We do not move asbestos or any waste involving bodily fluids. If you are unsure whether an item is suitable, send a photo first.

IKEA and major retailer pickups

Large retail purchases often arrive in boxes that are too big for a hatchback and too heavy to lift alone. We collect the items from the store or the pickup point and deliver them to your home. Tell us the store, the order details and the delivery suburb when you get in touch. Send photos of the boxes and the access at the delivery address, such as stairs or a narrow entry.

Marketplace and Gumtree collections

Private sales often come with a tight pickup window and no help with loading. We can collect the item from the seller's address and deliver it to yours, or move it between two private addresses. Send photos of the item, both suburbs and the access details at each end. We will confirm the price before you book.

Coastal deliveries

We deliver along the coast between Port Macquarie and Yamba as part of our regular local routes. Travel time is built into each quote, so you do not see a separate travel charge within that corridor.

Our monthly East Coast runs to Sydney, the Gold Coast and Brisbane operate by arrangement, when truck space is available. Those runs suit larger loads that are too big for a courier. Tell us what you need moved and we will confirm whether it can fit on an upcoming run.

How a pickup or delivery works

  1. Text clear photos of the items, the pickup suburb and the delivery suburb to 0415 540 055.
  2. Tell us about access at both ends, such as stairs, lifts, parking and narrow doorways.
  3. We reply with a confirmed quote. There is no separate travel charge within our regular area.
  4. Once you accept, we confirm a time that suits both addresses.
  5. Our crew arrives with blankets, straps, dollies and roller boards, loads carefully and delivers the items to the agreed location.

Pricing

Our published starting points are:

  • Minimum pickup from $110
  • Quarter load $498.99
  • Half load $998.99
  • Three-quarter load $1,498.99
  • Full load $1,998.99

Pianos and spas are quoted individually from $399.99. Longer runs are priced according to available truck space on the scheduled route.

Payment and insurance

Residential customers can pay by card or Afterpay via Square. Approved commercial accounts can be invoiced. We carry $20M public liability cover, goods-in-transit insurance and workers' compensation insurance on every job.

Why an enclosed truck matters

Retail and Marketplace items can be scratched, dented or soaked in an open vehicle. Our enclosed Isuzu Pantech keeps items protected from weather and road debris, and the tail-lift means heavy boxes are lifted rather than dragged.

Text photos, both suburbs and access details to 0415 540 055. You will receive a clear quote and the next available time.

Before you order or collect

A few checks save time on pickup day. Measure the doorway, the hallway and the lift, if there is one, at the delivery address. Keep the original packaging where you can, because it protects items in transit. If a flat-pack order has several boxes, tell us how many there are and roughly how heavy each one is.

What happens if the items are not ready

Sometimes a store or seller is not ready when the crew arrives. If that happens, we will tell you before any extra work and discuss whether to rebook. We confirm pickup times with you in advance to reduce the chance of a wasted trip.

Items that need extra care

Glass tops, mirrors, flat-screen televisions, chairs with fabric and large appliances need careful handling. Tell us about them when you send photos. The crew brings blankets and straps and will advise on the best way to load them.

Delivering to upper floors and tight spaces

Apartments, units and townhouses often have stairs, narrow stairwells or tight corners. Include photos of the stairs and entry in your request. If the item does not fit the access, we will tell you before the job, and we can discuss options such as disassembly or a different delivery arrangement.

Pick Up Pros and our other services

Pick Up Pros sits alongside our rubbish removal and small-move services. If you are moving an old item out at the same time as bringing a new one in, we can often do both in one visit. Tell us what needs to leave and what needs to arrive, and we will quote the job as one visit where practical.
