Junk Removal in Coffs Harbour: What to Expect and How to Get a Quote
Booking junk removal for the first time can feel uncertain. You may not know what the crew will take, how the price is worked out or what happens on the day. This guide walks through the process from start to finish so you know what to expect.
We are The Junk Removers & Pick Up Pros, a family-owned business run by John and Leanne Cook. We have served Coffs Harbour and the Mid North Coast since 2003, and we cover the corridor from Port Macquarie to Yamba.
Step 1: Send photos
Text clear photos of the items to 0415 540 055. Include your suburb, the nearest landmark or street, and the access details: stairs, lifts, parking, steep driveways and the distance from the items to where the truck can park. Photos are how we give you a confirmed quote without a site visit.
Step 2: Receive your quote
We reply with a confirmed price based on the space the items take in the truck and the labour needed. Our published starting points are a minimum pickup from $110, with quarter, half, three-quarter and full loads at $498.99, $998.99, $1,498.99 and $1,998.99. Mattresses start at $110 in Coffs Harbour. Pianos and spas are quoted individually from $399.99. Travel time is built into the quote.
If the quote does not suit you, you are under no obligation to book.
Step 3: Book a time
Once you accept, we confirm a time. Same-day attendance is subject to availability. Contact us early in the day for the best chance of a same-day booking. If we cannot attend on the day you ask for, we will tell you the earliest time we can come.
Step 4: On the day
The crew arrives with the enclosed Isuzu Pantech "Merlin", which has a 600 kg tail-lift, along with dollies, roller boards, straps and blankets. Before loading, the crew confirms the items with you and checks the access route. If anything differs from the photos, we tell you before doing any extra work.
Our crew does the lifting and loading, so you do not need to carry anything out. Items are sorted for recycling or donation where practical.
Step 5: Clean-up and disposal
When the truck is loaded, we check the area and make sure nothing is left behind. Metal, e-waste and good-condition furniture go to recycling or donation where possible. The remainder goes to licensed facilities. We do not take asbestos or waste involving bodily fluids.
How the price is decided
The main factors are volume, the type of items, access and the labour required. A few bags at ground level are quick. The same load on an upper floor, or through a narrow hallway, takes longer. Telling us about access at the start keeps the quote accurate.
Payment and insurance
Residential customers can pay by card or Afterpay via Square. Approved accounts can be invoiced. We carry $20M public liability cover, goods-in-transit insurance and workers' compensation insurance.
Why use a local team
John and Leanne oversee the quotes and bookings, so the person who gives you the price is the person responsible for the job. Our long history on the Mid North Coast means we know the access challenges common across Coffs Harbour and the towns around it.
Text clear photos, your suburb and access details to 0415 540 055 to get started. You will receive a confirmed quote and the next available time.
A note on free quotes
We provide quotes from photos at no charge. A quote is a confirmed price for the items you list and the access you describe. It is not a commitment to book. If you need more time to decide, take it.
Common questions before the day
Many people ask us the same few things. Can you take a single item? Yes, single items are welcome, and they are quoted in the same way as a larger job. Do you take mattresses and whitegoods? Yes, mattresses have a minimum of $110 in Coffs Harbour, and whitegoods are removed and recycled where practical. Do you take asbestos? No. Do you need to be home? Not always, but tell us how we can access the property and who to contact if we have a question.
If something changes on the day
Occasionally the items look different in person, or the access is harder than the photos suggested. In that case, the crew tells you before any extra work. You can then decide whether to go ahead, change the list or rebook. We do not add unexpected charges.
Keeping the job on track
The best jobs are the ones where the list and photos are clear, the access is described honestly and the items are ready. A few minutes of preparation at the start means the crew can work quickly and safely on the day.
Who you will speak to
John and Leanne Cook are the people who answer the phone, prepare quotes and oversee the job. That continuity means you are not passed between staff, and the person who gives you the price is the person responsible for the work.
