House and Small Office Removals on the Mid North Coast

Not every move needs a full-sized removalist truck and a large crew. Many of the jobs we handle are smaller: a one-bedroom unit, a granny flat, a downsizer moving into a smaller home, a student changing address, or a small office relocating across town. These moves still need care, the right equipment and proper insurance, and they do not need a large removalist's cost structure.

We are The Junk Removers & Pick Up Pros, a family-owned business run by John and Leanne Cook. We have provided small-move and office-relocation services on the Mid North Coast since 2003. Our base is in Coffs Harbour, and we cover the corridor from Port Macquarie to Yamba.

What a small move typically includes

• The contents of a studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom unit
• Selected furniture from a larger house when someone is downsizing
• Office desks, chairs, filing cabinets and light equipment
• Single heavy items that need two or three people and a tail-lift
• Marketplace or retailer purchases that need collecting and delivering

We send one, two or three crew members depending on the size of the load and the access at both ends. The truck is the same for every job: our enclosed Isuzu Pantech "Merlin", with a 600 kg tail-lift, blankets, straps, dollies and roller boards.

How the booking works

1. Text photos of the items, the pickup address and the delivery address to 0415 540 055.
2. Include access details for both locations, such as stairs, lifts, long carries and parking restrictions.
3. We reply with a confirmed quote that covers labour, truck space and travel.
4. Once you accept, we confirm a time that works for both ends of the move.
5. On the day, the crew loads the items carefully, transports them securely and unloads them at the other address. Both properties are left tidy.

Pricing

Small moves are priced on the same transparent scale as our other services. The final figure depends on the volume, the distance and the number of crew needed. Our published starting points are:

• Minimum pickup from $110
• Quarter load $498.99
• Half load $998.99
• Three-quarter load $1,498.99
• Full load $1,998.99

Travel time is built into each quote. Jobs within our regular Port Macquarie to Yamba area are priced as part of our normal routes. Jobs further afield are arranged around our scheduled East Coast runs, which operate by arrangement when truck space is available.

Afterpay via Square is available for residential moves, and approved commercial accounts can be invoiced. Pensioner and domestic-violence support discounts are available; just ask when you request the quote.

Why the enclosed truck and insurance matter

An open trailer leaves furniture exposed to weather and road debris. The enclosed Pantech keeps everything protected and secure. The tail-lift means heavy pieces are lifted rather than carried, which reduces the risk of injury and damage. We carry $20M public liability cover, goods-in-transit insurance and workers' compensation insurance, which protects both properties and the items being moved.

Preparing for moving day

• Disassemble items that can be taken apart, and keep the screws and fittings in a labelled bag
• Empty drawers and cupboards so they do not shift in transit
• Clear a path at both addresses
• Label boxes clearly by room
• Tell us about tight corners, low clearances or parking issues in advance, so we arrive with the right plan

Office relocations

Small offices often need a simple, planned move that does not stop work for longer than necessary. We can move desks, chairs, filing cabinets and light equipment in a single trip where the volume fits the truck. Tell us the number of desks and chairs, the floor level at each address and whether there is a lift. If the office has specific timing needs, let us know when you text the details, and we will tell you what we can confirm.

Packing help you can use

If you are packing yourself, a few habits make the move smoother. Use sturdy boxes and tape them shut. Keep heavy items in small boxes so they are easier to lift. Pack a labelled overnight box with essentials such as chargers, medication and a change of clothes. Pack fragile items with bedding or towels rather than loose paper, and tell us which boxes are fragile so the crew can load them with care.

What happens if the plan changes

Plans change. A delivery address may have a new access issue, or the items may be larger than the photos showed. When that happens, we will tell you before we do extra work and explain the effect on the quote and the time. The same applies if the weather or the road conditions affect the job. Clear communication keeps the move on track.

We regularly help people moving within Coffs Harbour, between Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie, up to Yamba, and across to Grafton and the towns in between. If your move involves a longer distance, we will tell you honestly whether it can be fitted into an upcoming East Coast run.
