Pianos and other specialist heavy items

A piano is a specialist job. It is heavy, awkward to manoeuvre, and often needs to be moved through tight hallways or down stairs. We quote pianos only after we understand the access. Preparing for pickup

Clear the path from the items to the front of the property where it is safe to do so. Remove loose items from drawers, shelves and wardrobes. Label anything you want to keep so it is not taken by mistake. Let us know about any stairs, lifts or narrow spaces when you send the photos.

Responsible disposal

We recycle or donate what we can before anything goes to landfill. Metal and e-waste from whitegoods go to suitable recycling facilities, and good-quality furniture is donated where practical. We will tell you what happens to your items if you ask.

Preparing a lounge, bed or wardrobe for removal

Large furniture is easier to move when it is ready. Take out drawers, shelves and loose cushions where you can. Remove glass tops from tables and wrap them in a blanket or cardboard. If a wardrobe is hard to lift, tell us so we can plan the access. We bring dollies, roller boards, straps and blankets, but a little preparation reduces the time and the risk of damage on both sides.

Fridges, freezers and whitegoods

Fridges and freezers should be empty and clean before we arrive. Unplug them and let them sit for a few hours before the job so the crew can move them without spills. Washing machines should be disconnected from water and power by the owner before the crew arrives. Tell us in advance about any whitegoods so we can plan the lift. Our 600 kg tail-lift is well suited to these items.

Mattresses and beds

Mattresses start at $110 as a minimum pickup in Coffs Harbour. A mattress is bulky and awkward to carry through narrow hallways, so bagging or wrapping it helps. A bed base or slatted frame can often be disassembled, which makes it easier to move. Tell us whether the bed base is attached to the mattress so the quote includes the full job.

Pianos and spas

Pianos are quoted individually from $399.99, and spas are quoted individually from $399.99 as well. Both are heavy and need careful handling. For a piano, tell us whether it is upright or grand, how many steps are involved, and how wide the doorways are. For a spa, tell us about the size, whether it is still connected, and where it sits. We will confirm the price once we have that information.
